Mohamed Mussa’s Biography

Mohamed Mussa is an Executive Director of Mercantile Group and the grandson of Mohammad Mussa, the group’s founder. Mercantile is a global real estate conglomerate and the parent company of Chestertons Global, Springtide Capital and Chesterfield Developments.

Mohamed is ambitious and motivated, keen to be at the forefront of Mercantile’s future development and represent the next generation to lead the family business. As the only son of Salah Mussa, Mercantile’s Chairman, Mohamed has been exposed from a young age to the family’s portfolio of companies, investments and business methodology.

By working closely with his father, Mohamed has acquired a unique insight into high-end property development. He played a significant role in the re-development of 8 Chesterfield Hill in Mayfair, and is now eager to take the lead on development projects of his own.

Mohamed supported his father’s interests in the sale of Chestertons UK to Emeria Group in 2023, working closely with Deloitte to ensure a positive outcome to the deal. Prior to Chestertons UK’s sale, he was actively involved with the company’s acquisition of Morgan Randall estate agents and lettings business, Snell & Snell.

In 2021 Mohamed became a Non-Executive Board Member at Chestertons and his daily involvement with the company means he brings a broad and detailed perspective to the board.

Mohamed has been tasked with growing Chestertons’ international network and takes the lead on strategy relating to office launches globally and creating business synergies within the Chestertons network.

The Mussa family has a strong commitment to giving back to society, especially to the communities in which they live and work. Mohamed intends to continue his family’s philanthropic legacy through the Chestertons Foundation which was established by his father in 2019.

Mohamed graduated from the University of Essex in 2020 with a degree in International Business and Entrepreneurship.
