Nicholas’ Biography

Nicholas Matulovich is a chartered accountant and an experienced finance and M&A professional with a focus on the commercial real estate and hedge fund industries.

As Chief Financial Officer of Rockcastle Global Real Estate Company Ltd, Nick executed the merger with New Europe Property Investments PLC (NEPI) in July 2017 to form NEPI Rockcastle PLC, which is the largest real estate company in Central and Eastern Europe with a portfolio of dominant retail centres exceeding €5bn in value.

Nick was a member of the team that founded Rockcastle in 2011 and was directly responsible for the development of a finance function across 7 countries and together with the company’s CEO, led all M&A functions of the business. In addition, he served as the COO of the hedge fund side of the business (with gross assets exceeding €2bn). Following the merger, Nick became an Executive Director and focused on the company’s funding profile (leading secured debt negotiations, capital markets transactions and equity roadshows) as well as leading the M&A and tax functions.

At the time when Rockcastle was founded, Nick was the Group Finance Manager for a leading South African property company where he was involved in new initiatives across Africa and Europe, as well as overseeing the company’s tax structuring.

During his years at Ernst & Young, Nick spent time in both the Transaction Tax division, which was the most successful M&A advisory businesses in Africa, and the Assurance division with clients in the financial services and private equity sectors.

A graduate of the University of the Witwatersrand, Nick has lectured undergraduate and postgraduate students in Taxation and Auditing at the same university. Nick has an MCom (Taxation) and is a CA(SA) and is now based in London. READ MORE VIEW LESS
