Peter Zaffino is a highly regarded individual in financial services, including the insurance and reinsurance industry. Throughout his career, Peter has held numerous executive leadership positions at major insurance companies. He is best known for his current roles as Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of AIG, a global leader in commercial and personal insurance solutions.

Peter began his career at AIG in 2017. He joined the company as its Global Chief Operating Officer followed by President (2019) before assuming his role as Chief Executive Officer in 2021. Under his leadership, AIG has implemented significant changes to improve the underwriting and operations of the business. These changes have led to improved performance and profitability for the company.

Previously, Peter served as President & CEO of Marsh, an insurance broker and risk advisor. Before moving to Marsh, he was President & CEO of global risk and reinsurance specialist, Guy Carpenter, where he held additional executive roles since joining the firm in 2001. In addition, Peter served as Chairman of the Risk & Insurance businesses (Marsh and Guy Carpenter) of Marsh McLennan from 2015 until joining AIG.

He began his executive career in the insurance and reinsurance industry at several market-leading firms, including a portfolio company of GE Capital specializing in alternative risk. He serves on the board of The Geneva Association, a global insurance industry think tank.

As an individual dedicated to charitable causes, Peter has spent much of his life working to improve the lives of others. He serves on the Boards of The Michael J. Fox Foundation for Parkinson’s Research and the New York Police and Fire Widows’ and Children’s Benefit Fund, an organization supporting the families of police officers, firefighters and EMS personnel killed in the line of duty.

Peter earned a B.A. in Economics from Boston College and an MBA in Finance from the Stern School of Business at
