Piers Lindsay-Fynn’s Biography

Piers Lindsay-Fynn is an investor who supports businesses with the capabilities to disrupt financial markets in new, unexpected, and radical ways.

He is a founder-investor at Gore Street Capital (GSC). In 2015, he partnered with fellow LBS Alumni Alex O’Cinneide, the company’s CEO, to launch GSC. Since then, it has become one of the largest owners of renewable energy assets and storage facilities in Europe. It has grown from a standing start to assets under management (AUM) in excess of £500 million.

In May 2018, GSC launched Gore Street Energy Storage Fund plc, the first category-defining energy storage fund listed in London. The storage fund currently manages, or has under construction, facilities in the UK and Ireland with a grid connection capacity of over 600 megawatts of energy, and aims to expand that capacity in the near future.

GSC is on a mission to decarbonise the power grid and help the UK and Ireland achieve net zero carbon emissions. Their energy storage assets provide the grid with renewable energy on-demand, balancing out intermittent sources of renewable energy such as solar and wind.

Constantly on the look-out for the next ambitious finance entrepreneur challenging conventional wisdom, Piers Lindsay-Fynn backs businesses that blend strong, scalable commercial models with the ability to impact the world in positive ways, especially in the environmental and renewable energy space. He is also passionate about backing British businesses that can play a key role in ensuring that London stays at the forefront of innovation in global finance.

Since 2004, he has been CEO of his family’s private investment office, responsible for capital allocation across all asset types, including equities, property, and private equity. Piers began his career in finance, working as a broker at many of Europe’s largest firms, including Tradition, Euro Brokers Finacor, and Exco/InterCapital.
