Robert C. Robbins’ Biography

Dr. Robert C. Robbins is a distinguished medical professional with a prolific career in cardiothoracic surgery and academic leadership. He currently serves as a Visiting Distinguished Fellow at the Hoover Institute at Stanford University and a Professor of Surgery at the University of Arizona. Dr. Robbins earned his A.A. in Chemistry from Jones Junior College, followed by a B.S. in Chemistry from Millsaps College, and an M.D. from the University of Mississippi Medical Center.

His extensive training includes residencies and fellowships at prestigious institutions such as the University of Mississippi Medical Center, Columbia Presbyterian Medical Center, NIH/NHLBI, Stanford University Hospital, Emory University School of Medicine, and the Royal Children’s Hospital in Melbourne, Australia.

Dr. Robbins has held numerous academic and executive positions, including President of the University of Arizona, President and CEO of Texas Medical Center, and various professorships at Stanford University and other institutions.
