Spencer is focusing on learning about Colorado's political, regulatory, and planning processes as he enters an entirely new landscape from Florida. There are some key differences, specifically regarding water rights, rocky terrain, and wildfire risks.
As an equipment intern for the Washington Commanders, Spencer and his co-workers prepared the locker room and practice facilities for the players on a daily basis. He also took responsibility for maintaining equipment, ensuring that clothing and towels were cleaned, and setting up the field in readiness for training sessions. His appreciation for the reward of hard work stemmed from these long days working here as a teenager.

Spencer was responsible for preparing the locker room for use by NFL team, Washington Commanders. He collected, cleaned and returned clothes, towels and equipment. He set up (and broke down) the training area ready for practice and made sure equipment was maintained to the standard necessary in line with safety standards.
