Thomas Joyce is a highly experienced executive in the financial services industry, with a career spanning over two decades. He has been a Partner at Montauk Distilling Company (MDC) since 2017, guiding the company in producing award-winning spirits and implementing strategic marketing initiatives.

Thomas is well-known for his exceptional leadership skills, strategic vision, and deep understanding of the global markets. Throughout his career, he has held various senior-level positions at prominent financial institutions. Notably, he served as the Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Knight Capital Group, a global financial services firm specializing in market making, electronic execution, and institutional sales and trading.

Prior to that, Thomas founded Direct Edge Stock Exchange, a U.S.-based stock exchange that operated two separate platforms: EDGA Exchange and EDGX Exchange. He also held the position of Global Head of Trading at Sanford C. Bernstein & Co., where he managed several major equity businesses.

He began his career as a Stockbroker at Kidder, Peabody and Co, a prominent American investment bank.

In addition to his corporate roles, Thomas has served on the boards of organizations such as SIFMA, NASDAQ, and Archipelago. Currently, he is a Member of the Board of Directors for Roper Technologies, Inc. and MedStar Health System.

He also has a deep philanthropic interest and was a Board Member of Special Olympics Connecticut, and currently sits on the board of The Alfred E. Smith Memorial Foundation.
