He has also co-founded NTRL (pronounced Neutral), a third-party digital infrastructure provider enabling neutral host solutions to South African mobile network operators.
Before joining Open Fibre, Philip led as Chief Operating Officer at start-up business, Rain, where he was responsible for building their wholesale business. Rain is a mobile network operator and the first commercial standalone 5G network in Africa.
On his return to his native South Africa after seven years in the UK, Philip moved from the corporate world to telecommunications when he joined telecoms business Hymax SA as an Investor and Executive. Hymax, an SME-focused Internet Service Provider, was subsequently acquired by the EOH Group.
